Pontiac Holiday Tournament 1st Round Pairings

Let's face it--fans of the Pontiac Holiday Tournament have become spoiled over the years.  After all, the last two Pontiac tournaments alone have featured players who ended up as or eventually will be lottery picks in the NBA draft--Jabari Parker and Cliff Alexander.  When it reaches the point where that practically becomes an annual trend, those who frequent Pontiac expect to see it year after year.

However, those expectations ultimately end up being unrealistic and sure enough the talent pool at this year's Pontiac tournament pales in comparison with past years.  You do still have both Simeon and Curie (the top two seeds in this year's tournament field) and that alone virtually guarantees a highly entertaining tournament. Plainfield North and West Aurora grabbed the #3 and #4 seeds respectively.

While you probably don't have a sure-fire first round NBA draft pick amongst the players in the 2014 Pontiac tournament, there will still be a good deal of D1 talent on display.  In addition to the stars at both Simeon and Curie, you will have 6'5 2015 2-guard and Wofford recruit Trevor Stumpe of Plainfield North, 6'6 2015 wing forward and Illinois State recruit Roland Griffin and a potential D1 sleeper in 6'1 combo guard Jason Ludwig of St. Charles North.  Below are the first round pairings for the 84th annual Pontiac Holiday Tournament which runs December 29-31 and is the longest running holiday tournament in the state.
