Connor Boehm, a 6'6 class of 2012 forward from New Trier High School in Winnetka, IL has received a scholarship offer courtesy of the University At Albany. Boehm's offer was confirmed by Mike Weinstein, the CEO of the Rising Stars traveling team program that Boehm plays for.
We previously noted that Boehm has shown considerable improvement after watching him at the Northern Illinois University Satellite Team Camp last month and he also performed well at the recently concluded Rising Stars Academic Showcase held at the Joy Of The Game Center in Deerfield, IL. In addition to Albany, Boehm is also being recruited extremely hard by Yale.
The Great Danes continue to do an outstanding job of recruiting the Chicago area, with their effort being led primarily by head coach Will Brown and assistant coach Chad O'Donnell. Albany currently has three players from the state of Illinois on their roster and are also involved with several other prospects from the 2011 and 2012 classes in Illinois as well.
Additional Notes
... Columbia University has offered a pair of prospects from the Rising Stars Gold 17-Under squad--6'7 class of 2011 forward Jack Ryan from Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, IL and 6'2 class of 2011 shooting guard Brayden Teuscher from Rockford Christian High School in Rockford, IL. Both Ryan and Teuscher are also being recruited hard by Cornell.
... Holy Cross is showing heavy recruiting interest in both Ryan and 6'0 class of 2011 point guard Garrett Jones from Evanston Township High School in Evanston, IL.
... We hinted at it in one of our writeups on the DePaul University Team Camp but it is now official--6'1 class of 2012 point guard Michael Orris will be playing for Crete-Monee High School next season, as he has transferred from Palatine High School as the result of his family moving to the south suburbs.
